About Us

Morgan Lee, M.Ed., Ed.D. - (they, them)

Morgan was introduced to American Sign Language and Deaf culture by a Deaf friend while pursuing an undergraduate degree.  This friend shared their own experience growing up with limited ASL access and struggles in school with educators untrained in Deaf education.  After graduation, Morgan worked in a Deaf school in Tamaulipas, Mexico for one year as a recreation director.

Recognizing the need for strong, equitable education for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, Morgan attended the Deaf education Master’s program at Boston University.  They also completed a certificate program at Gallaudet University focusing on teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students with additional disabilities.  Morgan successfully defended their dissertation in March 2025 and will be graduating in May 2025 from American University’s Education Leadership and Policy program.  Their dissertation focuses on the needed changes in public education for Deaf education, specifically for students who have language deprivation and are from marginalized communities.

Morgan has worked in Massachusetts, Washington D.C., and Virginia as a teacher and administrator in public and private schools since 2013.

Morgan passed the Virginia Quality Assurance Screening through the Virginia Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, receiving:  ASL Interpretation III / Transliteration III.  They serve as a freelance ASL interpreter in the Northern Virginia, DC, and Maryland area.
